I focus on assisting my clients in developing effective charitable, life insurance, and estate plans, and on providing support for successful implementation of their planning strategies. I assist clients in creating and administering private foundations, donor advised funds and a wide variety of charitable trust vehicles. Additionally, I give added value to my clients by assisting with their life insurance needs. My detailed familiarity with the use of life insurance in estate planning enables me to explain the potential role of insurance to my clients as I decipher complex issues that could arise."

Membership renewals for 2023 will stay at $70.00, as they have for the last 2 years. Renewal letters and forms will be sent in February and you can either pay by check or you can pay online.

LEAVE A LEGACY® Summit Portage Medina (LAL-SPM) provides resources and networking opportunities so that you can implement a planned giving program to fund your organization well into the future.
FOR PROFESSIONAL ADVISORS: Because of the special skills and services of professional financial advisors, development officers often need an advisor's help to implement their donors' plans. Cultivating that relationship between advisors and development officers is beneficial to both. In addition, donors in our community often visit our website to find experts who can help them leave their own legacy.
WHY LEAVE A LEGACY?
FOR OUR GENEROUS COMMUNITY: Many of our area's charitable or nonprofit organizations will struggle to survive in the coming years without an increase in planned giving. That's why many people who give generously to their favorite charitable organizations while they are alive are concerned that their contributions will be missed when they're gone. And rightly so. Information from our probate courts shows that only a small percentage of local wills leave any money to charity. People can continue to make a difference with a little planning.
WHERE DO I BEGIN?
Talk to your professional financial advisors and begin collecting information so you can determine the best approach for leaving your legacy. Making a bequest, or other testamentary gift, is actually quite simple. It can be as easy as including a bequest in your will, or changing the name of the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or an IRA. It is important that you consult a legal or tax advisor when making decisions to leave a charitable gift through a will or from your estate.
MEMBER MEETINGS
LAL-SPM meets quarterly. Each meeting has a brief business meeting and then a guest speaker on a topic related to planned giving.
